About Gerry House

Straight Talk’s Gerry House was founded as a nonprofit substance use disorder facility in 1990.  The program provides coed alcohol and substance abuse treatment services to individuals 18 and over with options for aftercare for twelve (12) adults for up to 90 days in a residential setting.

 

 Our experienced, credentialed staff includes Addiction Specialists, Ph.D.’s, Psy.D’s, licensed and registered Marriage and Family Therapists and Social Workers. 

 

Gerry House provides residential substance abuse treatment to individuals struggling with addiction and mental health disorders. We strive to provide a safe and supportive environment to help adults find sustained recovery. Residents enter treatment on a voluntary basis or court mandated. Medi-Cal insurance is a requirement for all.

Our program is probation/parole and drug court approved. 

Philosophy

At Gerry House we believe that with the right treatment, chronic drug addiction can be managed successfully.  By providing exceptional addiction and mental health treatment, Gerry House assists clients and families achieve sustained recovery one day at a time.

Program Objectives

From its inception, Gerry House’s goal has been to provide premier, client-focused, and evidenced-based care across the spectrum of mental health, addiction, and co-occurring treatment needs.

Packing List 

Each client will be provided with a 3’x 2’ plastic storage container, a dresser with four drawers, and a 2’ closet space to hang clothes. Clients will be assigned one laundry day per week.
 

The following is a list of ALLOWED items a client MAY bring upon intake:


Personal Documents:

  • Toothpaste

  • Mouthwash (alcohol free options ONLY

  • Comb/brush

  • Shampoo

  • Deodorant

  • Shaving Cream

Hygiene products must be unopened; must not be aerosol can; must not contain alcohol in ingredients
 

Attire:
 

  • pajamas

  • 8 underwear

  • 8 pair of socks

  • 8 t-shirts/tank tops

  • 3 sweaters/pull-overs

  • 8 pants

  • 8 shorts

  • 2 coats/jacket

  • house slippers

  • shower shoes

  • 3 pair of shoes

  • 2 hats

  • Medications, Bringing a 30-day supply of prescription medication is encouraged. Prescriptions must be valid. Client information on the label must be legible.

  • Unopened, sealed snacks which need no preparation or refrigeration.

  • No electronics with internet capabilities
